Download Lab Results From Oracle Health (Cerner): 3 Ways
By Phi Longevity
Start in your hospital's Oracle Health Patient Portal (it used to be called Cerner HealtheLife, and many hospitals show it under their own name). Open your test results, look for a way to print or download each result, and look for a download option for your documents. If a result is missing, or your portal has no download, ask the health system's records office for an electronic copy. That is a right you have under HIPAA, and our explainer on that right covers the timing and fees.
For a longer walkthrough of exporting your whole record from HealtheLife, see our HealtheLife export guide. If your hospital uses Epic instead, see how to download lab results from MyChart.
Way 1: Download one result at a time
- Sign in to your hospital's patient portal on a computer.
- Open your test results. Look for a section named Test Results, Results, or something close to it.
- Open the result you want and look for a Print, Download or Save option on that page. The name and the place differ between health systems.
- Save the file with the test name and the test date in the file name, so you can find it later.
Oracle describes the portal as a place where you can review test results and access documents. Each health system decides which options to turn on.
Way 2: Download your documents
- In the portal, look for a section for your health record or documents. Menus vary by health system, so you may need to search the menu for words like documents, health record, download, or share.
- Choose what to include, if you are given a choice, and pick a file type. A PDF is easy to read. Some systems also offer a structured file that other software can read. HHS names the C-CDA standard as one example of a format you can ask for.
- When the file is ready, open it and check that the lab results you need are in it. If it arrives as a .zip file, unzip it first.
Way 3: Ask for a copy
- Look on your health system's website, under Contact Us, for its health information or medical records department. You can also call or visit and ask for it, according to HealthIT.gov (ONC).
- Say which results or dates you want and that you want an electronic copy. HHS says you can ask for the form and format you want, such as a PDF or a C-CDA file, and the provider has to give it to you that way if it can readily produce it.
- Write down the date you asked. HHS says the provider's 30-day response clock starts on the day it receives your request.
If you use more than one health system
Each health system has its own portal account, even when two of them both use Oracle Health. Repeat the steps above for each one, and keep a short list of the system, the date you downloaded, and what the file contains. If some of your care is at an Epic hospital, our guide to combining records covers putting the two together.
What to do with the files
Once you have your files, put them in one place. Phi Longevity PRISM can read PDFs, photos of printouts, spreadsheets and C-CDA files. You can also connect your Oracle Health or MyChart account directly: search for your hospital when you connect, and Phi Longevity PRISM tells you which one it uses. It builds a one-page Care Team Brief with each result, its date, how it has changed over time, and the guideline behind each flag. It uses the range printed on your own lab report and never swaps in its own.

What Phi Longevity PRISM does not do
It does not diagnose, and it does not replace your doctor. It reads lab results today; medicines, diagnoses and allergies are not imported yet. If a result is not in your files, it cannot show it, and if it cannot read a file it tells you instead of guessing.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Oracle Health Patient Portal the same as HealtheLife?
Yes. Oracle's own product documentation names it Oracle Health Patient Portal (HealtheLife). Cerner is now part of Oracle Health, and many hospitals show the portal under their own name, so the login page may not say Oracle or HealtheLife at all.
How do I know if my hospital uses Oracle Health or MyChart?
Look at the portal's login page or the app your hospital tells you to download. If it says MyChart, it is Epic, and our MyChart guide applies. If it says HealtheLife, Oracle Health, Cerner, or only your hospital's name, ask the help desk which company runs the portal. When you search for your hospital in Phi Longevity PRISM, it tells you whether that hospital uses Epic or Oracle Health.
Can I download all my lab results at once?
Sometimes. Some health systems let you download your documents together, and others only one result at a time. If you cannot get everything in one file, download what the portal offers, then ask the records office for the rest. HHS says a provider generally has up to 30 days to respond to a request for your records.
