How to Let ChatGPT See Your Lab History From Every Doctor
By Phi Longevity
There are two ways to let ChatGPT see your lab history. One is ChatGPT Health's own record connections. The other brings results from every doctor, including paper and PDF records, into one place first and lets ChatGPT read a summary. This page explains both, using each company's own pages. It is general information, not advice about your situation.
Route 1: ChatGPT Health
- What OpenAI says it offers. Health in ChatGPT is a separate space where you can connect medical records and apps and upload files. Medical record connections are available in the United States only and go through a partner, b.well.
- Training. OpenAI says conversations in Health are not used to train its foundation models.
- Suits you when your records come through the connections ChatGPT Health supports.
Route 2: Phi Longevity PRISM as a custom MCP server
- Bring your records into Phi Longevity PRISM at philongevity.com: connect MyChart (Epic) or Oracle Health at participating health systems, or upload PDFs, photos of printouts and portal downloads from any doctor.
- Sign in at philongevity.com and open Connect Claude or ChatGPT for the address and the steps. Sign in there before you start in ChatGPT, so ChatGPT's sign-in window goes straight to the permission page.
- On ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins, select the plus button, then "Add custom MCP server", and paste the address. OpenAI's developer docs list these steps. Workspace plans may need the admin's approval.
- Choose what to allow on the permission page.
- Ask ChatGPT what changed in your results, what may be due, or to prepare you for your next appointment.
What the assistant gets: a read-only summary of which results are high, low or normal, how they are changing, and what to ask your doctor. Exact lab numbers too, unless you tick “hide my exact lab numbers”. If you allow the Health Picture, it also sees Phi Longevity's whole-record summary and your own medicine list. Never your name, birth date, address, email or payment details, and never your uploaded files or doctor's notes themselves. Two extra permissions are optional: adding documents to your record, which wait for you to accept them in the app, and noting what your clinician said, which you confirm in the app. You can end the connection any time on your Connected AI assistants page, and a connection lasts 90 days at most.
- Suits you when some of your records are on paper, in PDFs, or from doctors who are not on a portal, or when you want a one-page Care Team Brief for your doctors as well.
Before you connect anything
- OpenAI's developer docs say to connect only MCP servers you trust, and warn that an untrusted server could try to trick ChatGPT into unintended actions.
- HHS says a provider generally cannot refuse to send your records to an app you chose, and that the HIPAA Rules do not restrict how that app uses them. Read each service's privacy terms.
- For what leaves your hands when you use an assistant with records, see using your MyChart records with ChatGPT or Claude.
What to do with the files
Collect your results first (downloading lab results from MyChart, combining records from different health systems). If you choose Phi Longevity PRISM, this is how we handle your records:
Phi Longevity is not a healthcare provider or a "covered entity" under HIPAA for your personal account. We store your records in HIPAA-eligible systems under a signed business associate agreement with Google Cloud, and we protect them to that standard. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

What Phi Longevity PRISM does not do
It does not diagnose, and it does not replace your doctor. It does not send your records to an assistant unless you set up the connection yourself, and it does not tell you which assistant to use.
Frequently asked questions
Can ChatGPT see my lab results from MyChart?
OpenAI says Health in ChatGPT can connect medical records in the United States through a partner called b.well. You can also bring your MyChart or Oracle Health results, and files from any other doctor, into Phi Longevity PRISM at philongevity.com, then add it to ChatGPT as a custom MCP server so ChatGPT reads a summary with your permission.
How do I add a custom MCP server in ChatGPT?
OpenAI's developer docs say to use ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins, select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server, enter the server address, set up sign-in, accept the risk warning and create it as a plugin. With Phi Longevity PRISM, sign in at philongevity.com first and open Connect Claude or ChatGPT for the address and the steps.
Will ChatGPT see my exact lab numbers?
With Phi Longevity PRISM, yes, unless you tick hide my exact lab numbers on the permission page. It never sees your name, birth date, address, email or payment details, and you can end the connection any time.
